KUALA LUMPUR 17 October - MIC President Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu described the speech Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak UMNO General Assembly in 2009 as a sakhti or power and strength of its own.

According to him, what is clear from his speech Najib is already providing power to the people.

"Speech is no sakhti, no power or strength. Prime Minister give that power to the people where they can be united to support the government that actually served to the people," he said.

He said this at a press conference organized after the MIC Deepavali open house at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) here today.

General Assembly speech on the party which ended yesterday centered on the importance of united, ready to change, to wholeheartedly serve the people and the sacrifice of a leader.

Samy Vellu said he was present on the first day Najib spoke at the rally and take note of what is read.

According to him, MIC will take instruction from the speech Najib to UMNO members.

JAKARTA October 16 - All 650 Malaysian students in several universities in Jakarta confirmed safe in an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale that struck the capital of Indonesia is at 4:52 pm local time Friday.

CUEPACS claim 2 month bonus for government servants

KUALA LUMPUR, October 16 - Congress of Union Workers in the Civil Service (Cuepacs) decided to claim the two-month bonus for the 1.2 million government servants.

President Omar Osman asked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced consider this matter during the budget presentation for 2010 on October 23 next.

Results Cuepacs was achieved at the meeting Cuepacs Congress attended by about 120 members today.

Omar said Cuepacs received many reports and complaints dissatisfaction after the government last month announced a special assistance of RM500 only for servants support only and not all.

KUALA LUMPUR, October 16 - Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak warned Umno members not to exploit new methods of selection positions in the party.

Umno president said although the system is more stringent selection of the position, but it lead to party members to make changes so that they become better.

"We I change people, difficult. So we create a system that more stringent so that people do change. Ultimately they are so good person, if-God.

"I tell, do not destroy, exploit the new system. We are serious, do not apologize .... If you try to (do) address their responsibility (padahnya)," he said in a speech delay Umno General Assembly 2009, here today.

He said the new selection method of claim Umno members to make changes is to show a clean image of Umno, and books by people of integrity.

In the meantime, he is quite confident that Umno is ready to make changes and prosper as a strong party.
